Keeping Costa Rica Green

We at the Costa Rica Surf Institute take our responsibility to our earth seriously. As we spend most of our lives on beautiful beaches and in the ocean, we feel a very strong connection with our environment and do everything we can to protect, preserve and enjoy it.

Protecting Our Ocean

In order to have as little impact as possible on our local environment we are constantly finding new ways to minimize our footprint. So far we have set up a recycling program in the school, and a composting bin is currently being constructed. We help out in beach and river clean ups in conjunction with local groups including the Comite Ambiental y Cultural, MINAE and the local Surfrider Foundation.

Friends of the Surf Institute

Save Tamarindo is an organization located here in town, dedicated to protecting the natural resources and beauty of Tamarindo by opposing over-development and exploitation by greedy real estate tycoons.
